Producer Guide

Welcome to the MarsAI Film Festival! This guide will help you navigate the platform as a producer, from creating your account to submitting your AI-generated films.

Getting Started

Account Creation and Login

Access the Platform

Navigate to the MarsAI Film Festival website and click on the Register button.

Create Your Account

Fill in the registration form with:
  • First name and last name
  • Email address (will be used for login)
  • Secure password (minimum 6 characters)
  • Your account will automatically be assigned the Producer role

Log In

After registration, use your email and password to log in to the platform.
Your first name will be displayed in the navigation bar once logged in.

Film Submission Process

The film submission process is divided into two steps to make it easier to manage all the required information.

Step 1: Film Details

In the first step, you’ll provide the basic information about your film:

Required Fields

  • Original Title (required)
  • Duration in seconds (max 120 seconds)
  • Original Synopsis (max 300 characters)
  • English Synopsis (max 300 characters)

Optional Fields

  • Film language
  • Release year
  • Nationality
  • English title translation
  • YouTube link (if available)

Category Selection

Select the category that best fits your film. This is required and helps jury members find films in their areas of expertise.
You can also indicate:
  • How you learned about the MarsAI Festival
  • Your category preference from the available options
The platform validates that your film duration doesn’t exceed 120 seconds and that both synopses are within the 300-character limit.

Step 2: AI Classification, Files & Collaborators

The second step focuses on AI-specific information and media files:

AI Classification

100% AI

Your film is entirely generated using artificial intelligence tools.

Hybrid (Real + AI)

Your film combines real footage with AI-generated elements.

AI Technical Information

  • AI Stack (optional): List the AI tools you used (e.g., “Runway ML, ElevenLabs, Midjourney”)
  • Creative Methodology (optional): Describe how you integrated AI into your creative process

File Uploads

Film File

Upload your main film file. Supported video formats are accepted.

Thumbnails

Upload up to 3 thumbnail images for your film. These will be displayed in the festival catalog.
  • Click “Add Thumbnail” to upload additional images
  • You can remove thumbnails before submission

Subtitles (Optional)

Upload a .srt subtitle file if your film includes dialogue in another language.
The file name will be displayed next to each upload field so you can verify your selection.

Collaborators

Click “Manage Collaborators” to add team members who worked on the film:
  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Job/role (e.g., “Director”, “AI Artist”, “Sound Designer”)
You can add multiple collaborators and edit or remove them before submission.

Terms and Conditions

You must accept the terms of participation before you can submit your film. Click on the “conditions de participation” link to review them.

Submitting Your Film

Once all required fields are completed:
  1. Review your information in both steps
  2. Check the “I accept the terms of participation” checkbox
  3. Click “Submit” to send your film to the festival
A green success message will appear when your submission is complete, and you’ll see your film in the “My Submitted Films” section.

Managing Your Submissions

Viewing Your Films

After submitting at least one film, you’ll see a gallery of all your submissions with:

Film Card Information

  • Film poster/thumbnail
  • Title and synopsis
  • Duration, language, and nationality
  • Submission status badge

Quick Actions

  • Click any film card to view full details
  • Edit film information (admin or producer)
  • Promote to award candidate (if selected)

Understanding Submission Status

Your film will display one of the following status badges:
Your film has been submitted and is awaiting review by the festival administrators.What happens next: The admin team will review your submission and either approve it for jury voting or provide feedback.
Your film has been approved and sent to jury members for evaluation.What happens next: Jury members will watch and vote on your film. You’ll be notified of the results.
Unfortunately, your film was not selected for this edition of the festival.What you can do: Review any feedback provided and consider submitting to future editions.

Editing Your Film Details

If you need to modify your submission:
  1. Click on the film card in your submissions gallery
  2. Click the “Modify Film” button
  3. Update any field as needed
  4. Save your changes
Depending on your film’s current status, some editing capabilities may be restricted. Contact the festival administrators if you need to make changes to a film already in voting.

Submitting Additional Films

To submit another film to the festival:
  1. From your submissions page, click “Submit a New Film”
  2. The submission form will reset, allowing you to enter information for a new film
  3. Follow the same two-step process as your first submission
You can submit multiple films to the festival. Each submission is tracked independently with its own status.

Profile Management

Updating Your Information

While the platform primarily focuses on film submissions, you can update your user profile:
  • First name and last name
  • Contact information
  • Password (leave blank to keep your current password)
Your email address and role cannot be changed after registration. Contact the festival administrators if you need to update these fields.

Best Practices

Before Submitting

  • Verify your film duration is under 120 seconds
  • Prepare high-quality thumbnail images
  • Write compelling synopses in both languages
  • Have your AI tools and methodology documented

For Better Results

  • Choose the most accurate category
  • Provide detailed AI methodology information
  • Include all collaborators with accurate credits
  • Upload subtitles if your film has dialogue

Getting Help

If you encounter any issues during the submission process:
  • Review the error messages displayed in red below form fields
  • Ensure all required fields are completed before advancing
  • Check that your files are in supported formats
  • Contact the festival administrators through the official channels
Success and error messages are displayed at the top of the page and automatically disappear after a few seconds.
